The name will either be iPhone 11 or iPhone XI, but either way, we’re going to see the same configurations that we did in 2018. A 5.8 inch OLED iPhone 11, a 6.5 inch OLED iPhone 11 Max, and a 6.1 inch iPhone 11 R. All three models will see a significant processor bump in the A13 chip as well as an extra gigabyte of ram, but what you care about is the visual changes in these devices so that's what we're going to focus on today. In the two OLED models we should see mostly the same body aside from a potential change in the mute switch from a rectangle to a circle sliding in the vertical direction. The colors will remain the same, however, the material on the back may be moving to a frosted glass similar to the lower portion of the Pixel 3 rather than the glossy material from past designs. The LCD model will also see the same minor change in the mute switch as well as the addition of new colors. The iPhone 11R won’t be available in the Coral and Blue colors that we loved on the iPhone XR, but in exchange, we’ll be seeing a new Green color alongside a Lavender. The biggest change we will see this year is a brand new camera module which should look the same on all three models, but it will work a little bit differently on each one. The OLED models will have a triple lens setup, while the LCD iPhone has just a pair (addition of one camera to each from last year). That additional camera will likely be the same 10 megapixel ultra wide lens on all three devices. The 12 megapixel cameras from the prior models should see upgrades to 14 megapixels with faster apertures as well for better low light performance. The telephoto lens should be increased from 2x to 3x optical zoom and the three lenses working together on the OLED models means that these devices should have drastically improved 3D sensing capabilities for upgraded augmented reality experiences. We're also expecting to see a new generation of the True Depth camera system on the front of the devices. This update will include an upgrade in the selfie camera from 7 megapixels to 12 as well as improvements to the flood illuminator that should allow Face ID to be a little more consistent. The remaining list of new features on these devices is honestly very short. We are expecting a 5% increase in battery capacity to support bilateral wireless charging, the removal of 3D touch, and a few other minor changes, but honestly, we’ll have to wait until September to see what these devices are truly like. Be sure to tune in on Twitch for coverage of the announcement event and turn on notifications for the channel for an unboxing and review of the new iPhones when they launch. ▷Tags #iPhone11 #iPhoneXI #AppleLeaks Disclaimer - The links above may be affiliate links.
